In response to the call of the Senate Investigative Committee on Gambling (CPI das Apostas), the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced that it will set up a special Channel to receive reports of manipulation of football matches.
On July 3, CBF submitted a formal document to the Senate Investigation Committee on Game Rigging and Sports Betting, announcing that it would establish a special channel. To receive reports of match result manipulation in response to previous requests from the Committee.
According to CBF, they will hire a company to develop and manage these communication channels, which will be through phone, website and mobile Application to report.
CBF Chairman Ednaldo Rodrigues Gomes said in a report on the g1 website: "CBF has been paying attention to this issue and will as a top priority, especially in light of the Senate’s federal recommendations.”
CPI’s official document was signed on the 19th of last month. The chairman of the committee is Senator Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO) , the document also requires that reporting channels be generally open to the public.
The document states: "This parliamentary inquiry committee recommends the creation of an open and accessible reporting channel for the community and other participants within the football community used by users to support the agency’s efforts to investigate and control irregularities in its organized competitions.”
