The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has issued new regulations aimed at curbing illegal gambling promotions within professional football clubs, imposing fines and point deductions for violations.
These measures are part of a broader movement to limit the impact of unauthorized betting in Turkey's top football leagues and support legal, regulated gambling activities.
According to the updated guidelines from the Turkish Football Federation, any club in the Turkish Super League involved in illegal gambling promotions will face severe penalties.
The first violation will result in a fine of 2 million Turkish Lira ($58,424). Subsequent violations will lead to increased fines, with the second violation incurring a 5 million Turkish Lira fine, and the third violation a 10 million Turkish Lira fine.
It is worth noting: According to data from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board, the scale of Turkey's illegal gambling industry is expected to exceed 100 billion Lira.
For any further violations, clubs will face an additional fine of 10 million Lira and a deduction of 3 points from their league standings.
According to the TFF, these restrictions apply to "any media, billboards, and other devices" used within stadiums or club premises.
This ban also applies to affiliates and organizations related to unlicensed gambling services, especially those that promote or advertise such services in a manner suggesting endorsement or sponsorship.
