The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has denied any responsibility for the suspension of the Bamban mayor after Alice Guo's lawyer made the accusation.
Alice Guo was suspended for six months as authorities investigated her alleged ties to local POGO operators. According to Alice Guo’s lawyer, the charges against Alice Guo by the Department of Home Affairs (DILG) are the result of PAGCOR’s actions.
In response, PAGCOR stated that we are not responsible for inspecting buildings that do not fall under our jurisdiction. We issue licenses based on our own guidelines and documents submitted by the applicant.
Zunyuan Technology was raided in March on suspicion of human trafficking and fraud. PAGCOR confirmed that the company holds a valid temporary license issued in October 2023.
To oversee the company’s operations within the designated Baofu land development area, they sent representatives.
As the investigation continues, 49 officers from the Bamban City Police Station in Tarlac have been relieved of their duties.
