July 12, 2024 Mobile phone service providers like Claro and Vivo have cut off calls in Rio de Janeiro without Access to sports betting platforms authorized by the state lottery (Loterj). According to a release on the BNLData website, the action took place on Friday (12th).
According to information, users can still access betting and online gaming websites through the Wi-Fi services of the above operators. The blocking appears to be via domain name blocking. In response, multiple platforms are informing customers in Rio de Janeiro of alternative URLs to access their websites.
On Wednesday, July 3, Anatel instructed Rio de Janeiro’s Internet service providers to block sports betting and online gaming that are not authorized by Loterj website. The measure was taken after Anatel received a list of 115 unauthorized companies from the Rio de Janeiro state lottery that were allegedly operating illegally.
Betting platforms authorized by Loterj, such as Apostou RJ, Bestbet, Marjosports, Rio Jogos and Pixbet, continue to operate normally via fixed connections .
