Nine months after the Chubut Provincial Legislature passed the "Social Assistance Organizations Act" and new online gaming regulations, the province's first legal online gambling platform officially launched. This market expansion is driven by a collaboration between Chubut Lottery (IAS) and the international brand BetWarrior.
IAS President Ramiro Ibarra stated in an interview with FM El Chubut: "We are collaborating with BetWarrior, a platform that has obtained a license and is now operational. Players can visit betwarrior.bet.ar for legal gambling, which also generates real revenue for the lottery institution."
He emphasized that this initiative aims to combat illegal gambling platforms and provide more resources for social projects: "We hope to proceed smoothly, allowing lottery revenues to continue supporting education, health, and other social actions, and to expand protection for responsible gambling."
According to the new legislation last December, the goal for the lottery institution's renewal is to increase tax revenue, regulate online gambling, and reduce bureaucratic procedures. Ibarra also noted that IAS currently holds two valid online gambling licenses: one held by the institution itself, and another jointly issued with BetWarrior. He added that, theoretically, the number of licenses that can be issued is unlimited, but in practice, only two are managed.
Other provinces in Argentina are also advancing similar initiatives. For example, the La Rioja Gambling Authority (AJALaR) announced last month the official launch of the BetWarrior platform to eradicate illegal gambling and protect online players. AJALaR administrators Ramón Vera and company general manager José María Amondarain attended the launch ceremony and stated that legal platforms help control user behavior and reduce impacts on vulnerable groups.
