Light & Wonder has successfully obtained a supplier license from the General Commercial Gambling Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the UAE, becoming one of the first suppliers to enter the regulated gambling market in the region. This license covers land-based electronic gaming machines, table games, and digital iGaming content, allowing Light & Wonder to provide cross-platform products to licensed operators in the UAE.
Since the establishment of the GCGRA in 2023, the UAE has been actively organizing a regulated gambling industry. Matt Wilson, President and CEO of Light & Wonder, stated: "Obtaining the GCGRA license marks our entry into one of the world's most anticipated new regulated markets. We are honored to be among the first approved suppliers and will continue to uphold the principles of trustworthiness, responsibility, and player priority, contributing high-quality products to the UAE market."
In the first quarter of 2025, Light & Wonder's financial report showed that the company has achieved revenue growth for 16 consecutive quarters, with an 11% increase in adjusted EBITDA. In June this year, the company expanded its collaboration with BetMGM by launching the "Wizard of Oz - Along the Yellow Brick Road" slot game, which has been launched in multiple states and provinces in the US and Canada.
Furthermore, Light & Wonder completed an $850 million acquisition of Grover Gaming's charitable gaming assets, expanding its cross-platform operations. The company is now providing technology and content to licensed operators in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, actively organizing the global regulated market.
