Betfred announced the extension of its title sponsorship of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Matchplay and the Women's World Matchplay until 2030, continuing its partnership with this iconic summer event. The announcement was made on the eve of the 2025 Blackpool Championship, meaning Betfred's collaboration with PDC will last for over a decade.
Since 2019, Betfred has been the title partner for the World Matchplay; the Women's World Matchplay has been part of its sponsorship portfolio since 2022. This year's event will feature 32 top players including the current world champion Luke Humphries and Luke Littler, with Beau Greaves defending her women's championship title on July 27.
The renewal also brings a bonus increase: starting from 2026, the World Matchplay prize money will rise to 1 million British pounds, and the women's event prize money will increase to 40,000 British pounds.
Betfred founder Fred Done said, "We love the intense atmosphere and high-level competition of the matchplay, and are thrilled to renew for another five years as the darts craze continues to heat up." PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter added, "Betfred is not only a symbol of the event's title but also a staunch supporter of women's darts development. We look forward to another record-breaking season together."
