Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation has announced the official launch of the development of a national online gambling monitoring system, aimed at supervising legal gambling activities, enhancing tax management, and compressing the space for illegal gambling markets. The system will record every bet, payout, and return data in real time, and disclose market transaction volumes to increase transparency and regulatory efficiency.
Officials stated that the new system will serve operators and regulatory bodies, improving overall compliance levels. A public consultation will be held on July 21, inviting IT companies to participate in the system architecture and feature design, with the registration deadline on July 18. The Ukrainian government emphasizes its desire to create an efficient, user-friendly infrastructure, while relying on multi-party cooperation to ensure the system's practicality and impact after its launch.
This initiative comes at a time when Ukraine's gambling regulatory framework is undergoing significant adjustments. The government has recently abolished the original "Gambling and Lottery Regulatory Commission" and established "PlayCity" as the national gambling regulatory body. Currently, PlayCity has appointed a former prosecutor as its head, symbolizing its determination for reform and innovation.
PlayCity will lead the implementation of this monitoring system, which is seen as a crucial step in Ukraine's efforts to modernize gambling regulation and standardize the gambling market structure.
