Design software company Figma revealed in its IPO filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it holds nearly $70 million in Bitcoin ETF shares and plans to invest $30 million in purchasing Bitcoin (BTC).
According to the document, Figma invested $55 million in the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) on March 3, 2024, and by the end of March, this investment had increased in value to $69.5 million, realizing an approximate 26% unrealized gain.
In addition, Figma's balance sheet includes $30 million in the US dollar stablecoin USDC, and the board approved the purchase of Bitcoin with this amount on May 8, 2025. The company stated that it has purchased USDC with an equivalent amount of dollars and plans to reinvest it in Bitcoin later.
Figma's strategy reflects an increasing trend of companies incorporating Bitcoin into their financial assets. According to BitcoinTreasuries data, currently, 254 companies globally hold a total of approximately 3.48 million bitcoins.
Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsely praised Figma for allocating about 5% of its assets to Bitcoin and expects more companies to follow suit. Meanwhile, major Bitcoin investors such as Strategy and Japan's Metaplanet continue to increase their stakes, purchasing hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin assets.
