The globally renowned gaming technology company Scientific Games has recently obtained a gaming supplier license from the regulatory authorities in the UAE, officially entering the emerging gaming market in the Middle East and becoming another international brand to enter the UAE following Aristocrat, IGT, and Novomatic.
Scientific Games currently provides technical support to 150 lottery operators across five continents. In the UAE, it has partnered with the only legal lottery operator, The Game LLC. The company launched a national lottery in November 2024 and introduced four new instant scratch cards in March this year, with the highest prize reaching 1 million dirhams (approximately 270,000 US dollars).
Michael Conforti, President of International Business at Scientific Games, stated: "We are proud to have obtained the UAE license and will use our more than fifty years of industry experience to provide high-performance, responsible products to the local market, supporting community development and national public welfare goals."
Meanwhile, Novomatic has also obtained a gaming product supply license in the UAE, further expanding the market landscape. As multiple international enterprises are granted permission to operate, the gaming ecosystem in the UAE is rapidly taking shape.
It is noteworthy that Scientific Games is also expanding its business globally, deepening cooperation with lottery institutions in Florida, New Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
With the gradual opening of online gaming in the UAE, the booming international tourism industry, and the relaxation of policy environments, it is widely believed that the country is poised to become the next "gaming hub," potentially competing with Asian gaming centers such as Macau in the future.
