BetBlocker has launched a Serbian version of its responsible gambling app, expanding its free, anonymous support services to a broader Serbian-speaking audience in Serbia and globally.
This initiative is part of the charity's ongoing strategy to improve the inclusivity of its service languages, aiming to make it easier for users to use gambling self-exclusion tools in their native language.
The release was achieved in collaboration with Gamblers Connect, a partner website that offers free translation services.
With over 7 million Serbian speakers in Serbia and approximately 3 million living abroad, this expansion aims to meet the growing demand for native language support in the field of gambling harm prevention.
A 2018 study published in the International Gambling Studies found that 0.5% of Serbian participants met the criteria for problem gambling, with sports betting identified as a major risk area.
BetBlocker hopes the introduction of the new language version will improve the usage of self-exclusion tools and raise awareness of safer gambling practices.

This launch followed the appointment of John Wright and Darrell Helyar as members of the BetBlocker board in March, both of whom had previously worked to expand the charity's impact and operational capabilities.
