Netizen submission:
Just now, four of us were near RCBC at makti, and the police stopped us to check our IDs!
We explained that our IDs were in the room, but they wouldn't let us go to get them. In the end, we had to pay 100,000 P to be allowed to leave, otherwise, they would have taken us to the police station. Everyone, please be more cautious when going out and remember to bring your IDs.
The incident took place on the roadside, near the RCBC, at the SMDC apartment. We went there to eat Japanese food, and a friend lives there. Foreigners were not bothered, only Chinese were targeted!
We just got back now. It was the police, or maybe the traffic police, who stopped us on the road after we finished eating. We all said our passports were in the room and we could go back to get them, but they wouldn't allow it.
We communicated with them for over 10 minutes, and they finally said if we gave them 100,000 P, we could go. We went to a nearby store and exchanged the money into pesos, only then they let us leave, otherwise, they would have taken us back to the police station.
We didn't dare to run; running would have made things worse. We also didn't take any photos; who would dare to take photos? Just be more careful recently!
