Laura Avila, councilor of the PJ Block of Ushuaia, promoter of the regulation, told the local media El Sureño: "We designed these conferences so that teachers and relatives of teenagers can acquire the necessary tools to prevent and raise awareness about this problem that increasingly affects teenagers."
Avila recalled the enactment of the ordinance that created the program for prevention, dissemination, and awareness about online betting in teenagers and young people, and "the request we made from the Deliberative Council for the Bank of Tierra del Fuego to evaluate the feasibility of restricting the use of accounts and debit cards of teenagers on betting sites. These are all concrete tools to prevent this problem."
