According to the General Department of Immigration of Cambodia, the enforcement division at the border port in Kampot Province expelled 46 Vietnamese citizens (including 16 women), who were suspected of residing and working illegally in Cambodia.
The report states that four of these individuals were arrested by the Sihanoukville police on charges of illegal employment and were transferred to the Kampot Provincial Police; the rest were arrested by the Kampot police for allegedly working illegally in a scam company.
It is noteworthy that since the establishment of the General Department of Immigration in 2014, up to December 24, 2023, a total of 27,738 foreigners have been expelled from the country, originating from 107 different countries.
Additionally, as of December 2023, there are 2,246 prisoners (251 females) in national prisons from 46 countries and regions, including Vietnam (949 people), China (796 people), Thailand (127 people), and Nigeria (57 people).
