Mexico.- The state of Michoacán is advancing with its coordinated strategy to combat illicit activities. In a recent operation, they managed to seize 1745 slot machines across seven regions of the state.
The governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla announced that the effective collaboration between the Public Security Secretariat, the National Guard, the Army, and the State and Republic General Prosecutors has allowed interventions in casinos, establishments, and other places linked to the sale and consumption of alcohol and drugs.

Furthermore, the largest number of secured slot machines is in Morelia, with 577 units, followed by Uruapan with 307, Zitácuaro with 217, Zamora with 174, Lázaro Cárdenas with 168, Apatzingán with 163, and Pátzcuaro with 139. It is estimated that there are approximately 3,000 slot machines in Michoacán, of which at least half are operating in Morelia.
It was also announced that a massive event to destroy the 1745 seized machines will be organized, in collaboration with the State General Prosecutor's Office, while operations to confiscate the rest of the machines continue.
