The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sukar, convened a meeting of the National Committee on Combating Telecommunication Fraud, officially formulating a new action plan to strengthen the crackdown on telecommunication fraud crimes.
After the meeting, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Dusuk, revealed that the meeting mainly reviewed the challenges faced by past law enforcement efforts and discussed in detail the experiences from eight large-scale law enforcement operations conducted in Sihanouk Province.
The meeting unanimously agreed that further refining investigation procedures and accurately targeting criminal objectives are key to the current actions.
Dusuk stated that the core content of the new action plan includes strengthening investigations into the targets and locations of fraud crimes, improving the deportation procedures for foreign criminal suspects, and striving to shorten the deportation time to quickly deport the suspects back to their countries.
He noted that although the action plan has been formulated, the specific implementation time still needs further deployment, and the exact time to commence actions cannot yet be disclosed.
