Pennsylvania's gambling revenue increased by 11.6% in January, with sports betting surging by 38.6%.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released the first month's report card for 2026: total gaming revenue across the state reached $590.6 million, up 11.6% year-over-year. The growth engines were the online and sports segments—iGaming revenue $249.3 million, up 18.6% year-over-year; sports betting revenue $71.4 million, a sharp increase of 38.6%. January sports betting revenue $71.4 million, up 38.6% year-over-year, but a decrease from December's explosive growth (month-over-month -15.8%). Online revenue dominates, reaching $67.6 million, with physical retail contributing only $3.8 million. The total state betting amount was $782.4 million, with a take rate of 9.13%.

FanDuel/Fuji Valley: Revenue $27.7 million, betting amount $276.3 million, take rate 10.03%

DraftKings/Hollywood: Revenue $22.7 million, betting amount $235.8 million, take rate 9.63%

2. iGaming: An 18.6% year-over-year increase, online slots as the biggest cash cow

iGaming revenue $249.3 million, up 18.6% year-over-year, although it did not break the December record of $259.7 million, it is close to the peak. Among them:

Online slots: $194.8 million (+22.8%), the largest single source of gaming revenue in the state

Internet table games: $52 million (+6.2%)

Online poker: $2.5 million (-3.6%)

3. Physical Casinos: A slight increase of 1.6%, both slots and table games on the rise

Nine physical casinos combined revenue $264.9 million, up 1.6% year-over-year:

Slot machine revenue $189.1 million (+0.7%)

Table game revenue $75.8 million (+2.8%)

Additionally, truck stop slot terminals revenue slightly increased by 0.6% to $3.2 million, while fantasy sports revenue declined by 29.9% to $1.9 million.

4. Tax Contributions: iGaming contributes over $110 million

January total state gaming tax revenue:

iGaming: $113.9 million

Sports betting: $25.7 million

Physical slot machines: $95.6 million

Physical table games: $12.8 million

The online segment has become a significant pillar of Pennsylvania's finances.
