The adjusted revenue was $41.5 million, a significant year-over-year increase of 85.3%. Online betting dominated overwhelmingly, amounting to $608.9 million, while retail betting was only $1.8 million. FanDuel maintained its market lead with a revenue of $14.2 million, followed by DraftKings and BetMGM.

Betting and Revenue Performance
In August 2025, the total sports betting handle in Arizona was $610.7 million, up 23.0% from the same period in 2024 and up 31.7% from July 2025. Online betting accounted for $608.9 million, while physical retail betting was only $1.8 million. Total betting revenue was $59.9 million, up 61.5% year-over-year and 9.9% month-over-month. After deducting $18.4 million in free bets and promotional costs, the adjusted revenue reached $41.5 million, up 85.3% year-over-year and 2.0% month-over-month. The monthly hold rate based on adjusted revenue was 6.80%.
Operator Market Share Rankings
FanDuel continued to lead the market, with adjusted revenue of $14.2 million in August, a betting handle of $178.5 million, and a yield of 7.96%. DraftKings ranked second with total revenue of $13 million, a betting handle of $184 million, and a yield of 7.07%. BetMGM ranked third with revenue of $6 million, a betting handle of $67.5 million, and a yield of 8.89%. Fanatics and Caesars Entertainment ranked fourth and fifth, with revenues of $2.6 million and $2.5 million, and yields of 5.41% and 7.99%, respectively.
Tax Contributions and Industry Characteristics
August's betting activities brought $4.1 million in tax revenue to Arizona, with online betting contributing the vast majority, and physical sports betting shops only paying $30,625 in taxes. Data shows that the state's sports betting market is absolutely dominated by online platforms, with retail having a very small share. The market shows a continuous growth trend, and the top operators' structure is stable, with FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM continuing to maintain a leading advantage.
