International gaming giant Light & Wonder has announced its official entry into the Philippine online gaming industry, becoming the first global system aggregator and content provider certified by PAGCOR. This marks the Philippines as the 47th regulated market in the company's layout, and also its first foothold in Asia.
At the time of this announcement, the Philippine online gaming is in a period of rapid growth. In the first seven months before 2025, eGames business revenue exceeded $1.2 billion, surpassing traditional physical casinos for the first time. Light & Wonder took advantage of this by holding a seminar in Manila, fully showcasing its strategic layout in the Philippines.
Vice President Magdalena Podhorska-Okolow pointed out that the first batch of 50 games submitted were mostly classic works already familiar to local players offline. "We do not intend to start over, but to digitize popular slot machines and table games, achieving an 'omnichannel Light & Wonder experience'."
The company's greatest advantage lies in its strong aggregation capability. In the future, partners can access more than 5,000 games from over 100 studios worldwide through the platform, covering slot machines, progressive jackpots, and cross-platform gameplay, allowing players to freely switch between offline and online, maintaining a consistent entertainment experience.
Podhorska-Okolow also revealed that the company has set up an office in Clark and formed a local team to accelerate substantial engagement with Philippine operators, "We are ready to enter the full integration phase."
This move will not only inject international dynamics into the Philippine iGaming market but may also intensify competition. Industry insiders worry that as multinational giants deepen their layout, local POGOs may face unprecedented survival and transformation pressures.
