Following the establishment of a partnership earlier this year, the sports betting service supported by Playtech has now been fully promoted on MSC cruises, bringing a new entertainment experience to passengers.
This private cruise company has long provided visitors with a variety of entertainment options such as slot machines and table games, and the strategic cooperation with Playtech has further expanded the entertainment lineup. With Playtech's self-service terminals and new mobile cashier systems, passengers on board will be able to bet on various sports events, with all technology seamlessly integrated with passengers' onboard accounts.
Currently, 7 ships have deployed this service, and it will be further promoted in the coming months, enabling more ships among the 23 in the MSC fleet to offer sports betting features.
Yori Arami, Vice President of Playtech Sports, said: "We are very excited to partner with MSC Cruises to introduce retail sports betting solutions to its impressive fleet. This is an important milestone for Playtech, and we will continue to expand our services to provide unique and engaging experiences for players on land and at sea globally."
It is worth noting that MSC World Europa is the first liquefied natural gas cruise ship debuted by MSC Cruises in 2022—recently rescued by a tug near the west coast of Italy due to power issues.
This collaboration marks Playtech's first foray into the cruise leisure sector, and MSC's connection with the gambling industry is not the first time. Previously, MSC had signed a rewards cooperation agreement with Rivers Casino.
Maro Friso, MSC Cruises' Casino Business Director, said: "Through cooperation with Playtech, we are able to offer our guests an exciting, immersive sports betting experience. Our modern cruise fleet is equipped with advanced facilities, seamlessly integrating rich digital entertainment content with cruise casinos, bringing a new experience to passengers."
