The 2025 SBC Summit will be held on September 18 at the Lisbon International Exhibition Center (FIL), and this year's conference will for the first time set up an "Emerging Markets" track, focusing on the latest developments and future trends in the Asian sports betting and online gaming industry. The Asian gaming market was valued at over $18.3 billion last year and is becoming a highly focused growth area in the global industry.
The theme for the Asian segment is "Asia: Navigating Regulation, Opportunities, and Uncertainties," bringing together leaders from operators, law firms, consulting firms, and technology companies, including 12BET advisor Rory Anderson, Claymore Solutions founder Paul Fox, Rajah & Tann Singapore's head of gaming practice Lau Kok Keng, and Big Idea Chief Business Development Officer Yuta Romanchenko. They will deeply analyze the regulatory environments of different jurisdictions, from the emerging alternative gaming models in India to the mature physical casino industry in Macau, assessing which markets are most suitable for international enterprises to enter and invest in.
Among them, the "Indian Regulatory Roadmap: The Next Decade of Gaming" panel discussion will focus on the country's complex legal framework across various states, discerning the boundaries between skill-based and chance-based games, and discussing whether an effective national regulatory system is being formed or if the grey market will continue. Another topic, "Philippines: Life After POGO," will interpret the country's transition from offshore gaming operators (POGO) to domestically controlled gaming operators (PIGO), analyzing whether it has become the first truly comprehensively regulated market in Asia, and the role of PAGCOR in this process.
