On August 6, Thai police raided a luxury residence in Pathum Thani Province, successfully dismantling the well-known illegal online gambling platform "Auto888vip.com". During the operation, the police seized assets including luxury cars, designer watches, and a large amount of cash, valued at over 56 million Thai Baht, and arrested the 30-year-old financial officer, Thaweesak. The Technology Crime Suppression Division is now conducting an in-depth investigation into the underground network behind the platform.
According to the Technology Crime Suppression Center (TCSD), the platform was actively operated with abnormal capital flows, attracting about 3,000 registered users to participate in online gambling. Investigations revealed that in just six months, the website had over 20 million Thai Baht in suspicious funds transactions, involving multiple suspicious money laundering accounts.
The assets seized at the scene include: a Mercedes CLS53 valued at about 5 million Thai Baht, a BMW M4 worth about 10 million Thai Baht, 28 million Thai Baht in cash, Patek Philippe and Rolex watches (valued at 3.4 million Thai Baht), other valuable jewelry and fashion items (2.6 million Thai Baht), several bank books related to the case, and real estate and land valued at about 7 million Thai Baht that were seized.
The police pointed out that the platform lured players by masquerading as a legitimate service and set up multiple transfer accounts to evade scrutiny. The main suspect has now been charged, and the case is still under further investigation. The police remind the public to stay away from illegal gambling activities to avoid getting involved in the criminal chain.
