On May 18th at noon, the Philippine police launched a joint operation at the famous tourist destination Boracay Island, successfully arresting two Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in the kidnapping of Chinese businessman Guo Congyuan. The arrested individuals are a woman using the alias Kelly, real name Gong Wenli, and a man named Wu Jiaping. They are accused of participating in planning the kidnapping and managing a money laundering network involving more than 200 million pesos in ransom.

This arrest operation was carried out by the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Armed Forces (AFP), and the National Security Council (NSC), and took place at 1:54 PM in room 403 of the Henan Park Resort Hotel on Boracay Island.

The police investigation indicated that Kelly was a key negotiator in the kidnapping case and was also responsible for managing the ransom money flow, allegedly using multiple e-wallets to transfer large sums of money. Four mobile phones were seized at the scene, and the two suspects are currently being interrogated, with the investigation focusing on the flow of the ransom and the underlying money laundering mechanisms.

The case involves a total amount of 200 million pesos (approximately 25 million RMB), drawing significant attention from the Philippine law enforcement and judicial systems. Law enforcement agencies stated that further investigations into the suspects' backgrounds will be conducted, along with inquiries into possible connections with international criminal organizations.

The case is currently under further investigation.
