The Philippine National Police (PNP) recently stated that, with the assistance of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), by July 2024, the police have successfully rescued nearly 6,000 victims of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) cases.

In addition, law enforcement agencies have arrested over 1,000 suspects involved in these cases, nearly 900 of whom are Chinese citizens. The police emphasized that they will continue to strengthen the fight against illegal gambling and related criminal activities to maintain public order and citizen safety.

PNP spokesperson Jean Fajardo stated that under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., law enforcement will steadfastly fulfill their duties to protect the Filipino people from illegal activities and combat transnational criminal networks, thereby maintaining national security and order.
