Bloomberry Resorts Corporation announced plans to launch a new electronic gaming platform in the second quarter of 2025, as part of its strategy to compensate for the losses caused by the withdrawal of Philippine offshore gaming operators.
Chairman and CEO Enrique Razon stated that the platform is currently undergoing final testing and is expected to officially launch at the end of May or early June. The product will complement the company's existing online service, Solaire Online, and aims to expand its influence in the mass gaming sector.
Razon mentioned that shifting to online gambling is part of Bloomberry's overall strategy to recover revenues affected by the POGO ban that took effect last July. He added that digital gambling will become a long-term growth pillar for Bloomberry, alongside its physical gambling operations.
The company is also investing in its new integrated resort, Solaire North, aiming to further tap into the domestic market's growth.
Razon expressed optimism about the country's economic prospects, citing forecasts by government economic managers who expect the country's GDP annual growth rate to reach 6% to 8% by 2028.
With expected increases in income levels, the company anticipates an increase in discretionary spending, which could benefit the gambling industry. Razon welcomed government initiatives to attract international tourists, including the introduction of a tax refund scheme for non-resident visitors.
Looking ahead, Bloomberry's goal is to restore growth to Solaire Entertainment City, make Solaire North profitable, and expand its influence in the digital gaming sector.
