The National Police Agency of Cambodia officially confirmed that Heng Sethy, a "Red Notice" businessman who fled overseas, was arrested at the Russian border and will soon be extradited back to Cambodia for legal proceedings.
Previously, the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia announced that due to multiple alleged crimes and repeated refusal to respond to summons, Heng Sethy had been listed as a "Red Notice" individual.
The Cambodian government then decided to revoke Heng Sethy's passport and issued notifications to all embassies abroad through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
With close cooperation with Interpol, the Cambodian authorities successfully facilitated the arrest of Heng Sethy within Russian territory. Notably, Heng Sethy is not only a well-known businessman in Cambodia, but he has also publicly criticized several high-ranking officials including the current governor of Kandal Province, Guo Zongren, and the Duke of Hongdu, attracting widespread attention.
Currently, the Cambodian police are preparing to extradite him back to the country and process him according to the law.
