Authorities from the La Plata Racecourse and the Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos of Buenos Aires Province presented the latest updates and explained their expectations for this year's edition.
Argentina.- On Tuesday, November 19, the 104th edition of the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha will be held in the city of La Plata, and preparations are underway at the Racecourse, together with the Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos (IPLyC) of Buenos Aires Province, for what promises to be a grand event.
This year, the La Plata horse racing circuit opens its doors to all families with a special proposal for spending a day outdoors. From noon, visitors can enter the venue and enjoy food trucks from Miraflores, Creperie, Vipentto, Temple, and Naples, among others. Additionally, there will be a photographic exhibition, screens, and live DJs to liven up the atmosphere.
“The Gran Premio Dardo Rocha holds historical and cultural significance for the city. From the Lottery, we have been working to give a new impulse to the Racecourse, so that it is not only a special date for turf enthusiasts, but also a festive day for the general public, with music and attractions for all the people of La Plata,” stated Gonzalo Atanasof, president of the Lottery Institute.
For his part, the general manager of the La Plata Racecourse, Mariano Cowen, said: “This Gran Premio Dardo Rocha will be a historic day for horse racing because we anticipate a prize pool of more than AR$ 150m (USD 151,000) and we will be inaugurating two very important works for the turf family such as the change of lighting and the fence.”
“With this November 19, we not only join in the celebration of the anniversary of our beloved city of La Plata, but we also crown a year of hard work with the support of Governor Axel Kicillof for the Racecourse to regain its centrality as a cultural and sporting meeting place throughout the 365 days of the year,” added Atanasof.
The Gran Premio Dardo Rocha is expected to run around 7 pm with the best thoroughbreds racing and the stands packed to provide a unique experience.
