A kidnapping incident occurred in Kandal, where a Chinese man and a Cambodian driver were abducted. After receiving a distress call, the police rescued the two individuals and arrested three Kazakhstani men present at the scene. According to the Kandal provincial police, yesterday afternoon, the Ponhea Leu district police received a call about the kidnapping. The police then launched a rescue operation and found two suspicious Alphard vehicles near an abandoned warehouse on National Road 5. Three Kazakhstani men nearby saw the police and quickly ran south across the road into a rice field in an attempt to escape.
The police found the kidnapped Chinese man in a white Alphard vehicle, handcuffed at both his hands and feet.
This Chinese man was born in 1998 and currently resides in the Le Macau casino complex in Chrey Thom.
The other kidnapped individual, a 42-year-old Cambodian driver, was also rescued.
The arrested Kazakhstani men were born in 2000 and 1997.
