The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is disappointed with the poor turnout of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) workers at the job fair organized for them.
According to Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, about 1,000 people registered online to attend the job fair, but less than half actually showed up.
He mentioned that many unauthorized individuals who attended were not from internet gaming companies or holders of Internet Gaming Licenses (IGL).
This is why the Department of Labor plans to hold another job fair for them next month.
This time, the Department of Labor will reach out to internet gaming companies to provide their employees with the opportunity to participate in the job fair.
According to the Department of Labor's data, 27,000 Filipino workers in the National Capital Region (NCR) are affected by the POGO ban.
Laguesma stated that they are still analyzing other internet gaming workers in Calabarzon, especially in Cavite, where they have already analyzed 7,000 affected workers.
