The 15th hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality related to online gambling operations is currently underway.
In addition to Alice Guo, Shiela Guo, Cassandra Li Ong, and Tony Yang, former Philippine National Police Chief Benjamin Acorda also attended the hearing.
It can be recalled that at a previous hearing, the committee displayed some photos of Yang, as well as photos of Guo Li Jing's brother Guo Wei Si and Acorda.
In her opening remarks, Senator Risa Hontiveros stated that they cannot ignore the documentary released by Al Jazeera regarding Alice Guo possibly being a foreign spy.
Hontiveros confirmed that their staff had spoken with Shi Zhi Jiang through the Philippine Embassy in Thailand, but due to diplomatic reasons, no arrangement was made, and the embassy is still waiting for notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The senator's camp contacted the Myanmar Yatai Company through Al Jazeera and other friends who helped cross the river, but Shi Zhi Jiang also refused to speak.
With the efforts of Hontiveros' staff, they spoke with Shi Zhi Jiang's former cellmate Wang Fu Gui, who allegedly holds all files including the Guo Hua Ping dossier.
He said that although the investigation into Guo Hua Ping possibly being a spy is still ongoing, it is now clear that online gambling companies have exploited local government officials and law enforcement, and they might also be utilized by foreign interest groups.
