Between April and June, the revenues of the City Lottery were AR$24,466,528,016 (USD25.3m).
Argentina.- The revenues recorded by the City of Buenos Aires Lottery (LOTBA) are on the rise. The city lottery reported that between April and June of this year, the total collection was AR$24,466,528,016 (USD25.3m), corresponding to a 22.6 percent increase compared to the previous quarter.
Out of the total funds received in the second quarter of the year, AR$19,083,891,852 (USD19.7m) were allocated to finance assistance programs and the rest to finance the Lottery.
In the previous quarter, between January and March, the City Lottery achieved AR$18,922,346,211 (USD19.5m) from gaming, of which AR$14,759,430,044 (USD15.2m) were allocated to the assistance programs that the entity usually finances.
In the total of the first half of 2024, according to its own balance, the revenues produced by gaming amount to AR$43,388,874,227 (USD44.9m).
When presenting their balances, LOTBA explains that, with its claim «What you play, returns«, the City Lottery aims to highlight the character of assistance and social development to which the funds produced from the exploitation of the gaming offer are allocated.
This company uses up to 30 percent of what it collects for maintenance and operational functioning. The rest is transferred to the Ministry of Finance and Finances, which allocates it entirely to social programs, including the work being carried out by the City of Buenos Aires Housing Institute (IVC).

In early September, the City of Buenos Aires Lottery (LOTBA) announced that during the five months in which it has conducted its awareness workshops for young people, more than 2,400 teenagers from schools and colleges in the city have been trained on issues related to the risks associated with gambling.
During the month of August, 13 workshops were held reaching more than 1,300 children, boys and girls in the neighborhoods of Montserrat, Devoto, Palermo, Liniers, Núñez, Villa Luro, Villa del Parque, Mataderos, and Pompeya. Thus, so far this year, since the start of the activity in April, 27 establishments have been visited with a reach of more than 2,400 young people.
