An astonishing twist has emerged in the Philippines' "Missing Cockfight Gamblers Case". Key witness Julie "Totoy" Patindong recently testified, accusing several Philippine police officers of colluding with well-known gambler Atong Ang, and accepting substantial bribes over a long period. Some senior officers reportedly earned up to 2 million pesos per month, with an additional 500,000 pesos "reward" for each person they "handled".
Patindong provided several "cash vouchers" as evidence and revealed that the police had a "performance bonus" system, linking the number of people killed to the bonus amount, with one unit even taking home 2.6 million pesos as a "reward". He pointed out that the cockfight gamblers reported as "missing" had actually been killed, and their bodies were discarded in Taal Lake. If true, the case could escalate to a major criminal case.
