The Hoiana Resort & Golf complex on the central coast of Vietnam has announced the launch of its Phase II expansion project, with a total investment of $1 billion, which will further enrich its business layout. As a benchmark project that has been rated as the "Leading Integrated Resort in Asia," this expansion has attracted industry attention, and related developments have been disclosed simultaneously on the PASA official website.

Phase II Core: $1 Billion to Create a Diverse Business Environment

Nguyen Van Thang, General Manager of Hoiana South Development Co., Ltd., detailed the Phase II planning, with core highlights focused on four major business types:

Construction of a multi-functional international convention center that can accommodate 2,500 people, filling a regional gap in large-scale exhibitions and conventions;

Addition of over 1,000 five-star hotel rooms, significantly enhancing reception capacity;

Creation of a family-friendly retail and entertainment complex, covering all age groups;

Addition of a second golf course, complete with a professional training center and an internationally accredited academy, further consolidating its competitiveness in Vietnam's high-end tourism market.

Phase I Foundation: Mature Operations Lay the Groundwork for Expansion

Hoiana's Phase I involved an investment of $1.2 billion, started in 2016, and officially opened in 2021 after adjustments due to the pandemic. It currently includes 4 five-star hotels, 20 restaurants, a golf course designed by Robert Jones, and a casino equipped with 140 gambling tables and over 270 electronic gaming machines.

Even during the pandemic, the project continued operations, overcoming difficulties through measures such as workforce reduction, providing a solid foundation for the Phase II expansion. According to the plan, the entire project will be developed in seven phases, with a total investment of $4 billion, expected to be fully completed by 2029.

Market Support: Da Nang Tourism Continues to Heat Up

Hoiana's expansion is supported by the strong local tourism industry. By 2025, Da Nang and surrounding areas are expected to receive about 17 million visitors, including 7.6 million international tourists, a 25% increase year-on-year; this growth momentum began in 2024, with tourist numbers increasing by 32% compared to 2023, recovering to 135% of the 2019 levels.

Da Nang boasts quality beaches, Marble Mountains, and Hoi An Ancient Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and is only an hour's drive from the international airport. The booming tourism industry also supports the project's expansion.

Economic Value: Dual Benefits of Jobs and Tax Revenue

This expansion will bring tangible economic contributions to the local area. According to Nguyen Van Thang, the project currently employs 2,700 staff, 98% of whom are local Vietnamese, and the completion of Phase II will create an additional 2,000 jobs.

In terms of tax revenue, the resort's annual tax payment is expected to reach 2 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately $76.1 million) after the expansion, doubling the tax contribution by 2025 and becoming one of the region's significant sources of tax revenue.
