Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and the Macau University of Tourism (UTM) have joined hands again for the second consecutive year to launch the "Experience Macau" project. This program aims to help frontline staff, especially customer service personnel, to gain a deeper understanding of local culture and tourism resources, so as to better showcase the unique charm of Macau to visitors and residents.

Recently, Galaxy Entertainment held a graduation ceremony at the Banyan Tree Banquet Hall in Galaxy Macau for 50 members of the frontline team who completed the "Immersive Study Program". This training, which took place last October and November, lasted four days and cleverly combined classroom learning with field visits, with participants from various frontline operational departments including catering, hotel services, and integrated resorts.
The course content balanced theory with field visits
The entire study journey was rich and colorful. Participants not only attended lectures and guided tours on "Macau's New Eight Scenic Spots", world heritage sites overview and conservation, and the origins of Macanese Portuguese cuisine, but were also led by UTM instructors to visit the World Heritage "Historic Centre of Macau" and the old town of Taipa, experiencing firsthand the cultural tourism heritage of the community. Additionally, they visited the Lai Chi Vun Shipyard, which GEG is involved in revitalizing, to learn about Macau's traditional shipbuilding history and culture, and explored how this project integrates technology, family leisure, and cultural elements to rejuvenate historical heritage.
Revitalizing historical areas, injecting new vitality into the community
Since 2023, GEG has been actively involved in the revitalization of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyard area, introducing technology and multimedia displays to present traditional shipbuilding culture, while collaborating with local SMEs and community groups to create family-friendly facilities, leisure spaces, festive markets, and cultural performances. During the recent Christmas holiday, GEG officially launched the "Christmas Ice Skating Carnival" at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyard, attracting a large number of residents and tourists to celebrate the festive season. The ice skating rink's reservation slots quickly filled up, demonstrating the public's enthusiasm. The carnival also features themed photography installations and a winter market, and will continue to be open to the public for free every weekend until January 25, 2026.
Long-term support for the diverse development of community tourism
Over the years, Galaxy Entertainment has actively responded to the Macau SAR government's initiative to develop community tourism. By supporting and hosting various cultural, leisure, and tourism activities, GEG is committed to promoting the integration of local cultural characteristics and tourism resources, supporting community tourism development, and fully showcasing Macau as a "World Center of Tourism and Leisure."
