Spain's online gambling market continued to heat up in the third quarter of 2025, with total gambling revenue (GGR) reaching €405.36 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.49%, with online casino operations becoming the core growth driver. Overall market performance: Revenue and deposits both grow, marketing expenditure steadily rises

The overall market momentum is quite strong! Player deposits increased by 18.19% year-on-year, withdrawals increased by 16.82% year-on-year, deposits remained basically flat quarter-on-quarter with only a 0.03% increase, and withdrawals increased by 2.7% quarter-on-quarter. Marketing expenditure reached €154.84 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.89% but a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 6%, new registered accounts increased by 16.82% year-on-year, and decreased by 2.7% quarter-on-quarter.

Online casinos lead: Slot machines become the core of growth

The growth momentum of online casinos is unstoppable! Their revenue accounts for 56.98% of the total market share, reaching €230.97 million, a year-on-year increase of 22.93%. Among them, slot machines performed most brilliantly, with a year-on-year increase of 27.78% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 8.54%; live roulette increased by 4.2% quarter-on-quarter, while traditional roulette and blackjack respectively decreased by 8% and 3.22% quarter-on-quarter.

Other sub-sectors: Diversified betting, poker grows against the trend

The performance of different sub-sectors is somewhat diversified! Betting services account for 36.88% of the market, down 13.02% quarter-on-quarter but up 10% year-on-year. Traditional fixed odds sports betting dropped significantly by 42.98% quarter-on-quarter, live betting increased by 32.82% quarter-on-quarter, other fixed odds betting increased by 23.85% quarter-on-quarter, and horse racing fixed odds betting decreased by 9.07% quarter-on-quarter. Bingo business decreased by 5.92% quarter-on-quarter and 13.48% year-on-year; although poker only accounts for 5.36% of the market share, it increased by 13.59% quarter-on-quarter and 5.8% year-on-year.

Marketing expenditure structure: Promotional spending has the highest proportion

The allocation of marketing expenses is very focused! Promotional spending increased by 23.47% year-on-year to €82.03 million, of which €28.57 million was in the form of bonuses, and €53.46 million was non-bonus promotions. Affiliate marketing spending increased by 19.77% year-on-year to €15.86 million, and advertising spending increased by 8.42% year-on-year to €54.65 million.
