The Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Resort recently completed a large-scale facility renovation, covering guest rooms, dining, sports betting, and retail spaces, aimed at welcoming the upcoming winter tourism peak with a brand-new look. This property, located in Stateline, Nevada, has undergone a comprehensive transformation with the capital support of billionaire Tilman Fertitta since renaming from the Hard Rock brand in September 2023. General Manager Jason Seitz revealed to regulators that their goal was to "touch every square inch of the property," and this update is a key step in that long-term blueprint.

Comprehensive Room Upgrades for an Immersive Mountain-Lake Experience
The highlight of the renovation was the guest rooms in the Sunset Tower. The hotel has put a lot of effort into not just changing the soft furnishings. A total of 539 rooms have been thoroughly transformed; bathrooms have been rebuilt with walk-in showers and double vanities, and even the night lighting is sensor-based, showing attention to detail. The room interiors are dominated by natural tones, complemented by custom black and white artworks depicting the scenery of Lake Tahoe, Simmons mattresses, 65-inch LG TVs, and USB fast charging ports throughout the room, all aimed at enhancing guest comfort. According to Seitz, this reflects the company's commitment to "significant capital investment" in the property.
Dining and Entertainment Refreshed, Sports Betting Hall Becomes a Highlight
With the renovation complete, several highly anticipated venues have reopened. As the only fresh seafood bar in the Lake Tahoe area, Oyster Bar has returned after being closed for a month, continuing to serve fresh oysters and classic Creole cuisine. However, the most notable might be the newly upgraded Bill's Sportsbook. This viewing space is equipped with approximately 1200 square feet of HD screens, can accommodate 240 guests, and integrates a bar with slot machine functions. Guests can place bets at the manned counter or through 24-hour self-service terminals while enjoying authentic American meals like pizza and signature milkshakes. Additionally, the new Rush Lounge has replaced the original central bar, offering video poker, live music on weekends, and operating 24 hours on weekends, greatly enriching nighttime entertainment options.
Retail Layout Optimized, Future Plans to Continue to Ramp Up
In addition to living and playing, daily convenience has also been enhanced. Bean & Bread, a quick-service coffee shop, has expanded its area, offering Starbucks coffee and light meals. Next door, the "Essentials" mini-market has been upgraded to provide travel necessities, snacks, and even boutique retail like Ray-Ban glasses. These renovations are part of the overall revitalization plan set by Fertitta Entertainment after the acquisition. The owner, Fertitta himself, has stated that he intends to completely transform the property and make it one of the top properties in the South Lake Tahoe market. Future plans include introducing new table games in the casino and opening two high-end steakhouses belonging to Fertitta's Landry's Group—Mastro's and Saltgrass. The entire property's comprehensive renovation is expected to be completed by early next year, as tracked by the PASA official website, indicating that investing in high-quality upgrades of existing assets is becoming a key strategy for operators in mature markets to maintain competitiveness.
