Attention poker players! The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has just announced the first half of its 2026 tour calendar, bringing a major change: for the first time, the tour will adopt a year-round new format, saying goodbye to the traditional summer break. From January to May next year, poker enthusiasts around the world will enjoy a total of 24 exciting events, with 18 in the United States and another 6 overseas.

New Format: Play All Year Round, More Flexible Planning

This reform of the competition format is undoubtedly the biggest highlight. WSOP CEO Ty Stewart stated in the official press release that moving to a calendar year season marks "a new era of predictability," allowing players to better plan their pursuit of the coveted gold rings. Think about it, no more worrying about season interruptions, the whole year's poker journey can be arranged in advance, which is great news for professional and semi-professional players. Those who want a gold ring should start planning their 2026 schedule now.

Home Field in the USA: Setting Sail from Las Vegas, Texas Welcomes a Milestone

The new season will kick off on January 1 next year at Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas. The first half of the U.S. schedule is impressive, covering traditional hotspots in Oklahoma, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Indiana. It is worth mentioning that Texas will experience a historic moment—the Texas Card House in Austin will host the state's first WSOP branded event from April 23 to May 4, undoubtedly a major event for the local poker community. Additionally, popular venues like Harrah's Cherokee will host two events next year.

International Landscape: Spanning Three Continents, Gathering New and Familiar Faces

The overseas events are also highly anticipated, with six competitions spread across Europe, Africa, and Canada. The King's Resort in the Czech Republic will fire the starting shot for international events on January 1. The Es Saadi Casino in Marrakech, Morocco, and the Grand Casino in Liechtenstein (hosting a WSOP circuit event for the first time) will offer players a unique competition experience. Canada will have two events, in Calgary and Quebec. Online qualifiers for international events are expected to be conducted through GGPoker, with details to follow on the PASA official website.

Benefits and Tools: Champion's Package and Digital Experience Intact

The 2026 event benefits continue to increase. Each event's gold ring winner will receive a WSOP package worth $5,000, which can be used to participate in WSOP Europe or WSOP Paradise events, covering accommodation and registration fees. In terms of event experience, the WSOP+ app will continue to serve as the official standard tool, providing players with convenient services from registration, prize inquiry to real-time event data, making the participation experience smoother and more efficient.

It is reported that WSOP plans to announce the complete schedule for the second half of the year (June to December) in the summer of 2026. As poker events become increasingly globalized and standardized, this year-round competition format may become the standard operation for top brands.
