Recently, the police in Cangnan, China, cracked a case where a technician and others used a homemade APP to arbitrage on foreign gambling platforms, illegally profiting over one million yuan in nearly a year before being caught by the police. This case reveals the technological trend of new types of online gambling crimes.

Case Background and Involved Persons
A criminal suspect with software development skills, Zeng, took advantage of the weak risk control of foreign gambling websites to develop a "Compensation Proxy APP" for arbitrage operations. He formed a criminal gang with his accomplice Zhou and others. Honestly, this type of technical crime is indeed more covert than traditional gambling. They used virtual machines, remote control, and multi-node IP addresses to hide their tracks, successfully evading platform monitoring for nearly a year.

Arbitrage Techniques and Methods
The gang's main operation method was to choose two gambling platforms that shared the same lottery results, exploiting differences in platform rules for "water flushing". When one platform account continuously lost money reaching a certain amount, the system would automatically provide "rebates" or "bonus compensation", which they used to accumulate profits. More technical analysis on online gambling risk control is available in the special research reports on the PASA official website.

Police Enforcement and Legal Warning
After gathering sufficient evidence, the Cangnan police arrested Zeng, Zhou, and others, and seized mobile phones, computers, virtual machine data, and other physical evidence used for arbitrage. The police clearly stated that this seemingly "earning platform money" behavior essentially still involves participating in online gambling and profiting through technical means. Currently, several suspects have been subjected to criminal coercive measures for suspected gambling crimes, and the case is under further investigation.
