Thai police in Bangkok, in conjunction with the Anti-Drug Department, raided a luxury apartment in the Huai Khwang district, uncovering an online gambling den operated by Chinese nationals, arresting four suspects and seizing multiple electronic devices. The gang provided various gambling services through an online platform, using student identities as cover for their illegal activities.

Details of the Operation and Seizures

On November 14, Thai police conducted a surprise inspection of a high-end apartment in the Huai Khwang district of Bangkok, arresting three Chinese men and one Burmese man on the spot. Law enforcement seized laptops, mobile phones, and OTP verification devices among other tools used in the crime, although no drug-related items were found. The operation was a joint effort by the police and the National Anti-Drug Committee, with meticulous surveillance of the location.

Gambling Gang's Operational Model

Investigations revealed that the gang operated a network platform offering a variety of gambling activities such as slot machines, baccarat, and sports betting, forming a complete online gambling chain. Their servers were located abroad, and the financial transactions had cross-border characteristics, typical of transnational online gambling operations.

Suspects' Disguise Methods

The police found detailed identity disguise guides on the suspects' phones, including standardized responses to immigration officer inquiries and norms for simulating a student's daily life. Despite the suspects' denials of involvement, their living environment and equipment setup contradicted their claimed student status.

Progress in Case Handling

The suspects have now been transferred to Huai Khwang Police Station, facing charges of illegal gambling operations, illegal entry, and smuggling of electronic devices. The police stated that they would continue to trace the gang's financial flows and backend platform managers, further expanding the investigation.
