Thailand's law enforcement agencies have recently cracked down on a criminal group involved in illegal online gambling and money laundering, with the case amounting to 2.4 billion Thai baht. The operation, led by the Thailand Special Investigation Bureau, targeted the group's use of illegal websites to place gambling ads and launder money. The main suspect has been arrested and related assets have been frozen, and authorities are currently pursuing fugitive members to prevent the spread of crime.

Large-scale Arrest Operation
The Thailand Special Investigation Bureau (DSI) recently launched a raid targeting a network of gambling and money laundering gangs. The group is suspected of infringing on the copyright of overseas football matches and using illegal gambling ads to attract the public to participate in gambling. During the operation, law enforcement quickly intervened to prevent further spread of criminal activities.
Amount Involved and Criminal Methods
The investigation revealed that the group promoted gambling through nine illegal websites, with financial transactions exceeding 1.3 billion Thai baht. Suspects used about 150 foreign accounts to collect gambling funds, which were then distributed to members, forming a systematic money laundering chain, with total losses estimated at 2.4 billion Thai baht.
Suspect Arrest and Asset Freeze
In this operation, the main suspect "Mr. A" (pseudonym) was arrested, and his luxury houses, vehicles, and bank accounts worth over 80 million Thai baht were frozen. Additionally, DSI has issued arrest warrants for seven fugitive members and is fully committed to their capture to ensure legal sanctions.
Follow-up Investigation and Legal Procedures
DSI is cooperating with the Anti-Money Laundering Office to transfer suspects and assets to the prosecutorial authorities and continues to track the flow of funds and potential accomplices. Law enforcement emphasizes that this measure aims to combat transnational money laundering and online gambling, protecting societal and national interests.
