At the Sub-Forum on Combating Transnational Crime at the Global Public Safety Cooperation Forum, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security announced significant achievements in cooperation with law enforcement departments from various countries in recent years. It is reported that the Chinese police have carried out joint operations with Spain, the UAE, Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and other countries, successfully arresting 68,000 suspects involved in overseas telecommunications network fraud. The forum was held on September 18 in Lianyungang, Jiangsu, attracting heads of police departments, officials from international organizations, and experts and scholars from 30 countries and regions. The meeting focused on the theme "Joining Hands to Combat Transnational Crime and Maintain Global Public Safety," with a focus on the globalization trend of telecommunications network fraud and international cooperative strategies to combat it.
The meeting pointed out that telecommunications network fraud has developed into a global public safety challenge, with its cross-border, organized, and intelligent characteristics becoming increasingly apparent. To address this challenge, China proposed the initiative to build an "International Anti-Fraud Alliance" at the meeting, suggesting that countries deepen cooperation in information sharing, case collaboration, and joint law enforcement.
The forum ultimately adopted the "Initiative for Jointly Combating and Governing Telecommunications Network Fraud Crimes," receiving positive responses from multiple parties. This move marks a new stage in international cooperation in combating telecommunications fraud, with future efforts to address transnational criminal activities through closer collaborative mechanisms.
Data shows that in recent years, telecommunications network fraud cases have been on the rise globally, not only causing significant economic losses but also posing threats to social stability. Law enforcement agencies from various countries are enhancing international cooperation to establish more effective mechanisms for combating and preventing such crimes.
The outcomes of this forum indicate that there is a consensus in the international community on combating telecommunications network fraud, and future efforts will involve closer cooperative relationships to jointly maintain the global public safety environment.
