The Cambodian police continue to intensify their crackdown on telecommunications network fraud, launching a joint law enforcement operation in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, raiding two suspected fraud sites and arresting 141 foreign suspects, including 90 Chinese nationals.
This operation was led by the government of Svay Rieng Province, in collaboration with the police, immigration bureau, and other departments, targeting the "Four Seasons Apartment Hotel" and "Marina Building" in the center of Bavet City. These two locations have long been suspected as bases for online fraud. Law enforcement officers successfully controlled all suspects at the scene and seized a large amount of equipment and evidence related to telecom fraud activities.
The nationalities of the arrested individuals include Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese, and Laotian, specifically: 90 Chinese (including 27 women), 35 Vietnamese (42 women), 15 Burmese (13 women), and 1 Laotian woman. The police also found evidence related to drug processing, trading, and usage at the scene, indicating that these dens might be involved in multiple criminal activities.
All suspects and seized evidence have been transferred to the Bavet City police station, and the case is currently being further investigated and processed by the relevant departments.
