Rank Group Raises Performance Expectations: 2025 Fiscal Year Revenue to Increase by 11%, Continuously Expanding Digital Business Scale

UK casino operator Rank Group announced that its financial performance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, exceeded expectations. The company expects the annual net gaming revenue (NGR) to grow by 11% year-over-year, reaching approximately £795 million (about $1 billion), with an underlying operating profit expected to be no less than £63 million, significantly higher than previous internal estimates.

CEO John O'Reilly stated that despite facing "significant regulatory and cost pressures," a strong rebound in business in the fourth quarter effectively offset earlier adverse factors, which was the main reason for the profit exceeding expectations.

This positive update comes as UK gambling regulations are about to undergo key adjustments. Starting from July 22, 2024, small casinos in England and Wales will be allowed to increase the number of gaming machines per table from the current two to five. Rank has announced plans to take this opportunity to expand the equipment at its Grosvenor casinos, planning to add 882 slot machines, which will increase the total number of machines from 1,367 to 2,249. The expansion will be gradually implemented over the coming months with local government permission.

The company also noted that the new regulations will allow live sports betting, and in the coming months, the UK gambling regulatory system will undergo a second round of adjustments, including stricter identity verification standards and possible adjustments to gambling tax rates.

Previously, Rank disclosed in its third-quarter financial report for the 2025 fiscal year that net gaming revenue grew by 10.9% year-over-year. Additionally, the group is continuously expanding its digital business scale, having recently partnered with game developer Octoplay to further enrich its online content supply.

Rank expects to release the complete preliminary financial report for the 2025 fiscal year on August 14, at which time investors will closely monitor how the company maintains growth against the backdrop of industry regulatory reshaping and advances the integration and upgrading of offline and online businesses.
