The classic American sitcom "Friends" remains popular, and has now made its debut in online casinos for the first time. BetMGM has announced a partnership with UK developer Atlantic Digital to launch the first officially licensed "Friends" themed slot game, "The One With the Multi Drop", which is now live in Michigan and New Jersey, with plans to expand to more states.
This slot game is set against the backdrop of Monica and Rachel's apartment, accompanied by the series' theme song "I'll Be There For You", and faithfully recreates classic scenes and characters from "Friends", including Joey, Ross, Chandler (in tribute to Matthew Perry), Phoebe, and Rachel. The game also incorporates several iconic lines such as "Pivot", "How you doin'?" and "You're My Lobster", offering players a nostalgic and interactive gaming experience.
Sam Hobcraft, CEO of Atlantic Digital, stated: "‘Friends’ is one of the most iconic series ever, and transforming it into an iGaming format was a challenging but proud task. ‘The One With the Multi Drop’ represents our work in merging top entertainment IPs with innovative gameplay."
The company has previously developed several slot games based on well-known film and TV IPs, including "The Godfather", "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Ace Ventura", and "Cheers", gaining extensive experience. This series also indicates that more "Friends" themed games are expected to be launched in the future.
Oliver Bartlett, Vice President of Gaming at BetMGM, emphasized that this collaboration is a key step in the platform's strategy: "We are proud to be the first to introduce ‘Friends’ into iGaming, bringing a new sensory experience to players. Atlantic Digital is adept at capturing the charm of IPs and successfully reshaping classic films and shows through gaming."
Although Joey is still waiting for a mac and cheese themed game dedicated to him, his character has already made a brilliant appearance in this game. As for the absence of Regina Phalange? It's said she's on a business trip, leaving a hint of "mystery".
With the launch of this game, the wave of nostalgia for "Friends" has heated up again in the digital entertainment field. For BetMGM and Atlantic Digital, this is not just an IP collaboration, but a new attempt to transform emotional resonance into player experience. Whether it will become the "best game ever" in Chandler's mind remains to be seen by the market—but this crossover integration has clearly won plenty of applause.
