In response to the recent hype by Thai media about the arrest of "Pobei Boss" Fu Guoan, the Cambodian government quickly clarified on July 9, denouncing the reports as false rumors. The Cambodian side emphasized that Fu Guoan is currently in Pobei, has not been subjected to any law enforcement actions, and has not been under investigation.

The Deputy Director of the Office of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and the head of the working group in Pobei City, Ban Kenwen, publicly responded, stating that the rumors were "completely fabricated." Fu was preparing a networking event with the government work group that evening and was "not arrested at all." He sharply criticized the Thai media for "deliberately disturbing social emotions," claiming that such fake news was "provoking the social stability of Cambodia."

Ban Kenwen emphasized that Fu Guoan is a legally operating Chinese entrepreneur, and his life is completely normal without any detention or charges. He urged the public not to believe in unverified cross-border media hype.

Recently, as Thai police continue to crack down on cross-border online gambling and telecom fraud groups, Fu Guoan has become a media focus, widely speculated to be associated with the "Pobei underground network." However, the Cambodian side has firmly denied all allegations, showing that the differences between the two countries regarding cross-border law enforcement have gradually spilled over to the public opinion level.
