The Lithuanian Gambling Regulatory Authority, under the Ministry of Finance's Gaming Control Authority, has recently added several unlicensed gambling website domains to its blockade, further expanding its "blacklist". As of now, the total number of illegal gambling domains on the block list has reached 1,910.
The newly added blocked domains include flagman.casino, flagman-casino1.com, flagmancasino16.com, flagmancasino17.com, and flagmancasino18.com, all owned by the Curacao-based operator GALAKTIKA NV. The regulatory authority noted that these sites did not obtain local licenses in Lithuania, violating the Gambling Law regulations, and therefore ordered national Internet service providers (ISPs) to perform DNS blocking to restrict their access within the country.
In addition to the Flagman series, the banned sites also include globally renowned platforms such as unibet.com, williamhill.com, pokerstars.eu, and bet365.com, whose various regional versions have been restricted in Lithuania.
It is worth mentioning that Betsson has recently officially changed its operating brand in Lithuania from Betsafe to its global flagship brand, reflecting compliant operators seeking deeper layouts in the market.
Meanwhile, Lithuania is gradually advancing the implementation of a national gambling advertising ban. According to the bill passed last November, the ban will be implemented in phases, aiming to be fully effective by 2028. The current first phase of restrictions includes: the length of gambling advertisements on television, radio, and online platforms must not exceed 15 seconds, the number of broadcasts per hour is limited, and all online advertising links to gambling sites are completely prohibited.
This series of actions marks an acceleration in Lithuania's crackdown on illegal gambling, and also reflects its ongoing efforts to establish a stricter and more controlled gambling environment.
