A video shot at the Resorts World casino in Las Vegas has sparked a public outcry: three high rollers gambling up to $25,000 per hand at blackjack were denied complimentary drinks for not being hotel guests. The video was live-streamed and quickly went viral, sparking widespread discussion about whether "Las Vegas has changed."
The video was filmed by Canadian streamer Xposed (real name Cody Burnett), who has 400,000 Twitch followers. On that day, he and his friends visited both Red Rock and Resorts World casinos. At Resorts World, one player asked for water and orange juice, and another requested a strawberry banana milkshake, but were denied by the staff citing "non-residency" as the reason.
Even when Xposed reminded them of the $25,000 per hand bets, the staff still hesitated and said, "I can't offer that for free." This statement instantly ignited the anger of many and sparked heated discussions online.
The clip was uploaded to platform X by user @M19190191, and within just 24 hours, it garnered nearly 750,000 views. The comments exploded with reactions, with one user saying, "I bet three to five hundred per hand, and both Bellagio and Aria treat me like royalty." Others mocked, "This move by Las Vegas is like putting lipstick on a pig." Some even sarcastically commented, "Are they trying to save on drink money to cover money laundering fines?"
Red Rock Casino also joined in, with their official account replying, "Wait, what did he just say?" poking fun at Resorts World's customer service.
Xposed also posted self-mockingly, "Betting $25,000 per hand, and can't even get a $10 milkshake... LOL."
As of the time of writing, Resorts World has not yet responded to a request for comment from media Casino.org. This "beverage controversy" has once again thrust this controversial new star of the casino world, set to open in 2025, into the whirlwind of public opinion.
People are concerned not just about the drinks, but more so about whether Las Vegas is losing its soul of lavish hospitality from days past.
