Against the backdrop of the accelerated development of the gambling industry in the Philippines, DigiPlus Interactive Corp., together with its BingoPlus Foundation, launched a series of major initiatives during the "Problem Gambling and Gaming Awareness Month" to further deepen its long-term commitment to responsible gambling.
At the second International Conference on Responsible Gambling held in Manila, government representatives, industry leaders, and social organizations gathered to discuss how to build a safer, healthier, and sustainable gambling ecosystem through cross-sector cooperation. Angela Camins-Wieneke, Executive Director of the BingoPlus Foundation, emphasized at the conference that technology empowerment, educational promotion, and community building are the three key pillars in preventing gambling addiction.
As one of the core measures of technological innovation, DigiPlus's GameSmart project has become a main tool for implementing responsible gambling on the platform. This project integrates prevention, education, and intervention, introducing smart algorithms, game time and spending limits, as well as facial recognition features, not only helping players control their gaming behavior autonomously but also effectively preventing minors from accessing gambling content.
The platform also established a "Responsible Gambling" section, where users can enable a cooling-off period, view gaming records, and set reminder mechanisms, shifting from passive regulation to active self-discipline.
The BingoPlus Foundation focuses on offline communities, by hosting financial literacy lectures, mental health awareness activities, and providing "Problem Gambling Identification Basic Training" for emergency personnel, enhancing risk identification capabilities and response mechanisms at the grassroots level. The foundation particularly emphasizes that the gambling industry should not only create entertainment value but also bear social responsibility.
On the customer service level, DigiPlus specially trains its customer service team to identify high-risk players and provide personalized intervention suggestions and referral pathways when necessary. The company states that these mechanisms are not temporary measures but are core components of its long-term development strategy.
It is worth noting that DigiPlus is accelerating the expansion of its global business footprint. Following the acquisition of an operating license in Brazil, the company continues to uphold a "responsibility-first" strategic orientation, promoting the concept of responsible gambling in the global market. By 2025, DigiPlus plans to invest up to 1.5 billion pesos in technology education, community resilience, healthcare, and digital security.
By building a multi-layered protection system online and offline, DigiPlus and the BingoPlus Foundation are driving the Philippine gambling industry towards a more transparent and responsible direction, providing a localized responsibility governance model that is worth emulating for the global gambling industry.
