Recently, the police in Krabi Province, Thailand, launched a raid operation codenamed "Bong La Fai", successfully dismantling a large illegal casino hidden within a palm plantation.
On the afternoon of May 21, 2025, around 5 PM, a special task force formed by the Krabi Provincial Administration and Plai Phraya Police Station, based on public reports, raided a palm garden in Khao Thong town, just a hundred meters off the main road, capturing hundreds of suspects engaged in dice and poker gambling on the spot.
The on-site investigation revealed that the casino had a monthly turnover of 12 million Thai Baht, with well-equipped facilities, not only providing professional gambling equipment and chip exchange services but also surrounded by vendors offering food and beverages, and a sophisticated early warning system with personnel specifically assigned to keep watch.
According to Deputy Minister of Interior, Ronnarong Thipsiri, the casino was notorious for its persistence, with videos circulating online about its "reopening and even larger scale." This operation specifically adopted a strategy of encircling from the forest behind to successfully breach its defenses.
All suspects involved have been taken to Plai Phraya Police Station and will face criminal charges for "participating in gambling without a license."
This operation is a significant achievement in the special campaign against illegal gambling personally deployed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin.
