The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released the gaming revenue data for April 2025, reporting a total gaming revenue of $536.6 million, a 5.0% increase compared to April 2024.
Financial Condition
This growth was primarily due to online gaming, which generated revenue of $235.2 million, up 25.2% from the previous year. Since the beginning of the year, online gaming revenue has reached $908.4 million, a 21.0% increase from the same period last year.
However, the profitability of traditional casinos has declined. The nine casino hotels in Atlantic City reported earnings of $211 million in April 2025, down 2.7% from $216.8 million in April 2024.
Total sports betting revenue also declined. The total revenue from casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $90.5 million, down 14.8% from April 2024. Since the beginning of the year, sports betting revenue has decreased by 17.6%.
Despite these declines, as of April 2025, the total gaming revenue for all sectors since the beginning of the year has reached $2.12 billion, a 3.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The total tax revenue for April 2025 was $59.8 million, with a total tax revenue of $234.9 million since the beginning of the year.
The data for April continues the trend from March 2025, where New Jersey's gaming revenue reached $546.1 million. Despite declines in physical gaming and sports betting industries, iGaming still grew by 23.7%.
The performance in April continues the momentum from February 2025, when total gaming revenue grew by 5.1% to $484.8 million year-over-year, highlighting the continued growth of the state's digital business.
